Bonnaroo 2011: Thursday

Thursday got off to a slow and hot start. The first few hours were sparse crowds and new smells. Hayes Carll got the ball rolling with his welcoming country stomp. Wavves and Freelance Whales kept the attention of many listeners. The crowds started rolling in a bit before the Best Coast show where unfortunately I got struck with a killer migraine and unexpectedly had to end my night. Got some good ones lined up tomorrow!

Brett Dennen/Dawes
Great weekend! Saw Fleet Foxes at the Ryman and Brett Dennen/Dawes at The Cannery. Both were super amazing shows. Got to chat with Brett for a split second again, super cool guy and his new album is amazing. Met Taylor from Dawes, what a nice and talented fellow. All in all a superb weekend for music and fun. Mogwai next weekend.

Henry Horton
Woke up early yesterday and headed over to Chapel Hill to check out Henry Horton State Park. After wandering around for a bit we finally ran into a couple of men that directed us toward a couple of trail heads. One named Turkey Trail, the other Wilhoite. Saw some really cool old photos from the area and a few wildlife. All in a all a very nice day.
